Thank you for all your comments on the 2009 race, we appreciate them.
While we do our best to produce a 100% accurate result this is not always possible. Some of the difficulties we encounter are:
- Missing race number
- Boat entered in the wrong class
- Competitor not wearing a bib
- Race number on the wrong side of the boat
- Race number upside down!
- Lots of boats finishing at the same time; sometimes we can miss one!
- Boats paddling back upstream and subsequently crossing the line a second time!
- Human error on our part
In each case reported to us we will endeavour to locate and correct any error. This year, 2009, we have three competitors reporting that they are not on the result. One was simply missed while keying the times. The other two numbers do not appear on either of the time sheets. In both of these cases an estimated time was given. With this we can search the finish line video and hopefully include the two missing boats in the final result.
In one class this year we did not enter a split time. The outcome of this was that, although the result was correct, the times were showing a couple of minutes longer. This was explained to the competitor who brought it to our attention. It was also explained that the result published at that time was provisional and that the corrected times would be posted on this site.
