Were Macphoto (www.macphoto.net), or someone similar, there again this year capturing the event?

MacPhoto were not in attendance this year. I am not aware of any other who were though I am sure there must have been some.

There were definitely a few very serious looking photographers out there on Saturday. They did seem to be working their way through ever paddler that passed - they cant be amateur enthusiasts!

Just googled and found this guy

It might be worth keeping an eye on his page to see if he was there for 2010 event.

Just seen this posted on Mac photos website...

I have had a number of enquiries about photos from this year's Liffey Descent. I am sorry to say that it is no longer economical for me to employ the team of photographers and indexers needed to cover the Descent. It was a matter of pride for me that the majority of competitors could find their photos on this site. Last year I had photos of 97% of the starting line up. Over the last few years a number of photographers posted free photos on Fickr and other sites, and others sold images at low prices. The sales lost because of this are the sales that paid for the full coverage. This year I had to make the decision not to cover the event at all rather than only provide partial coverage. I am very disappointed that I had to do this, but my business with all it's overheads can't compete with someone that has a day job and is happy to make a few Euro toward their next lens.To everyone that bought photos over the last few years I would like to say a big "Thank You" for your business. Vincent.

What a pity:(

Just an idea but would it be possible for Liffey organisers to email everyone who took part asking them to post any pictues they or their sepctators took, in one place - maybe create a webshot page or something specifically for this years photos. Official pics really missed this year. I know this would only be possible if there is a data base of all entrants and involve one email to all.

or any others ideas of how we could all share pics - maybe a facebook page would also work

Agreed with the previous post. There are bound to be lots of people that have photos of the event. There were loads of photographers on the day. Really missed the photos this year

I was there this year, and my photos are online here: http://www.snapt.eu/2010/ld/index.html

It was great fun, and well done to the organisers and participants!

Unfortunately didn't find myself on the snapt set, and was equally disappointed that macphoto didn't make it this year. I really like this shot...to me sums up the whole LD experience!!
